Elizabeth (Tina) Girot Jackson

After high school, I attended "Trade Tech" on a Dental Assistant Scholarship and ended up taking courses in Marketing and Business Management. After living for a year at the Canyon Terrace Apts, I came home with the intention of working at Reams so I would be able to continue my education. It was a nice dream but, I began rollerskating and ment Leon who asked me to skate.We always said, "HE SWEPT ME OFF MY FEET!" And then he "TRIPPED ME AND I FELL FOR HIM!" ( I'm on a roll today!) We were married May 5, 1973 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Provo.

I Worked for Alpine School District as a Special Ed. Aide and Job Coach

I exchanged one set of kids for another...Worked for UTAH NATIONAL GUARD:

AAEFS: Order, trained, stocked, bookkeeping, and helped manage our Exchange.

BILETTING: Managed barracks and single rooms for the schools and weekend training. Help train co-workers, Kept financial books, and time cards, took incoming and out-going mail for the units, helped with cleaning of the rooms.

FACILITIES MAINTENANCE RECEPTIONIST: Bookkeeping and managing monies, directed phone calls, and set up work projects, worked on Signage projects for the military bases and private use. Typed formal letters for deployments and resignation requests.

In 2005, Leon started to work for Honeywell. He just retired from Deseret Chemical and I left Camp Williams. Leon's first job assignment was on Dugway Proving Grounds. (Loved living on the base-English Village) One year later, our big adventure began when we were transferred to the Austin-Texas area. We were given the chance to travel together to many of the Army/Air Force Bases where he worked on alarm systems. Since he could work from anywhere, we came back "home" and Lived in Roosevelt Utah until Leon "retired" again. From there we moved to the Payson area. During this time, we did continue to be "Snow Birds" working as camp hosts (Sand Hollow State Park-Hurricane Utah-St. George area) until October 2022.

During the years, (Which we also had some ups-and-downs.) we have enjoyed Rollerskating,Square Dancing, traveling, and Camping, (after 50 in travel trailers only, or hotels!). We have also enjoyed watching our children grow into fine adults, get married, and raise their own children. We REALLY have ENJOYED "the letters of Apology" each one has expressed! Life has been good to us.

My favorite memories of my school days was working at Saratoga Resort. I worked (played) the four summers during my high school years. I learned how to socialize with a very "diversed group" of kids from Kearns to Nephi Utah. During the school year, sometimes, we would meet at football or basketball games and cheer-on our perspective teams. Afterwards the "loser" would have to buy a treat from the Hi Spot. (That's after "dragging Main") It has been fun to see what life had in stored for some of my favorites. (Thank you Eastmond Family for a great life experience!)
